PRAYERS
Prayer and praise will be our power house: ‘“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” We urge all believers to raise up the church in prayers, expecting God to move and act. Jesus says the harvest is already plentiful but we must pray (Mt 9:38). Let us continue the habit of spending time with God daily. Let CCC to be a house of prayer for all peoples.
Pray for brothers and sisters in Christ:
- For healing and strength for those with ongoing medical treatment, chronic pain, or hospitalization. May they find peace and courage as they trust God. May family members find strength as caregivers and encouragers.
- Pray for our missionaries. Pray also for organizations that do work to spread the gospel. Brother John and Sister Donna request prayers for the upcoming training of house church leaders, that seeds of interest planted by the short-term team may begin to grow, for the Holy Spirit to continue to soften the hearts of unbelievers.
- Thank God for the freedom to worship in this country, one of the important freedoms we remember on Independence Day.
- Thank God that we are free from the consequences of sin.
- Pray for our teens – that in their time off from school they can reflect with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit on decisions they need to make on studies, careers, friendships, family, and relaxing activities.
Pray for needs of the church:
- Pray for the annual picnic –that we may use this time to experience God in a different way and to reach out to others.
- Pray for the upcoming Youth Retreat. May the retreat become a building block upon which the youth may continue to strengthen their faith in Christ.
- Pray for the Sanctuary Fund-raising efforts. May we focus on our own commitment to God in our pledging rather than the enormity of the goal trusting that God will see what is in our hearts and add his favor to our efforts.
- Pray for unity in the church, working together to build up the body of Christ in a spirit of love and acceptance. Pray that we may use the Summer Retreat as a way to build unity among the congregations.
- Pray for the plans of the 75th Anniversary Yearbook Committee.
Pray for individual spiritual growth:
- Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23, 24 use Communion Sundays for heart check-ups – the power of confession and forgiveness can make our spirits healthy.
- I will never leave you nor forsake you. —Hebrews 13:5 whatever crosses your path, remember that you always have Jesus. “ If every circumstance finds us abiding in Christ, we will find Christ abiding with us in every circumstance.” (Henry Bosch)
